sizing

just like shoes or baseball hats, kids have to grow into a violin. one size does not fit all!
playing on a violin that is too large is like walking in floppy shoes – uncomfortable, awkward, and ultimately, frustrating.
it is extremely important that you choose the correct size.
the method i use to determine the right size is: put the violin up on his/her shoulder, ask them to stretch their arm as far as they can reach, and the end of the scroll should come to their wrist.
this is a general chart for violin sizes.
